Special chief
secretary to government Lingaraju Panigrahi said that the government would
appoint state information commission soon. “A road map is being prepared for
the same and the commission will be formed. Once commission is constituted, a
notification will be issued for the appointment of information commissioners,”
he informed.
He was
speaking at open house forum on Right to Information Act held at AP Human
Resource Development Institute, in Bapatla on Saturday. Speaking on the
occasion Lingaraju Panigrahi called upon officials to come forward to disclose
all the information and share it with the public.
Former
advisor to AP Information Commission Srinivas Madhav said that the provisions
of the AP Re-organisation Act should also be kept in mind while constituting AP
Information Commission, as it falls under tenth schedule. United Forum for RTI
Campaign secretary Putta Surendra Babu requested the authorities for the
transparency in the appointment of Information Commissioners.
