In an
incident which created ripples in the police department, an inspector-rank
officer levelled allegations against misuse of official machinery against a
Superintendent of Police in Siddipet.
Husnabad
Police circle inspector (CI) D Bhoomaiah convened a press conference in
Husnabad police station to level allegations against the Commissioner of Police
(CP) of Siddipet Police Commissionerate, P Sivakumar.
The CI made
these allegations after a drama over his transfer from the post of Husnabad CI.
Recently, he went on a leave for a few days and then he joined Husnabad police
station. Meanwhile, Bhoomaiah received communication from his higher official,
the assistant commissioner of police stating that he was transferred and was
directed to report to DIG office in Warangal.
“I was asked
not to enter the police station,’’ the CI said. He replied back saying that he
did not receive any orders transferring him to DIG office and made it clear
that he will continue as Husnabad CI. After three hours of discussions with
higher officials on mobile phone, he was given transfer orders and he decided
to leave the police station. However, before leaving, he convened a press meet
where he made the allegations.
During one of
the Telangana agitation that took place in Hyderabad, a police constable of TS
origin was beaten up Samaikhandhra leaders. “I condemned the incident in strong
words and issued statements against the then DGP. Sivakumar, who was SP of
Karimnagar then, bore a grudge against that since then,’’ he alleged.
After
Telangana’s formation, Bhoomaiah was transferred to CID. While in CID, he
lodged a complaint with higher officials against Sivakumar alleging that the
latter constructed a building by collecting donations from people in the name
of Telangana Martyrs memorial building. The inspector collected information
through RTI.
“Keeping all
these issues in mind, Sivakumar is mentally harassing and humiliating me,’’ he
alleged. When the transfer orders were yet to reach the CI, the SP reportedly
directed the inspector not to use official vehicle and not sit in SHO’s chair.
When
contacted, Sivakumar said Bhoomaiah is facing several complaints and the
enquiry is on. “Some have even approached the State Human Rights Commission. To
divert the attention, he is making such allegations,’’ he said.
