Calling upon
women to make better use of the Acts promulgated for them by the government,
Central Information Commissioner Madabhushi Sridhar Acharyulu on Saturday said
that many women were unaware of the protection provided to them by the law and
it was time for them to have knowledge about various Acts, including the Right
to Information Act. He was the chief guest at a workshop on the RTI Act
organised jointly by the NSS wing of the JNTUK and the women’s wing of the RTI
Aikya Vedika here. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the need for
improving literacy rate among the women and wanted the educated men and women
to take the lead. RTI Aikya Vedika women’s wing president Nalam Andal was
present.
