No Goa MLAs Undertook Official or Personal Tours Outside State or Abroad Between 2022 and 2025: RTI

Herald Goa: Panaji: Sunday, 20 July 2025.
In a surprising revelation, a Right to Information (RTI) query has found that no Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in Goa undertook any official or personal tours outside the state or abroad during the three-year period from March
2022 to March 2025.
The information was disclosed by the Goa Legislature Secretariat in response to an RTI filed by activist Vishal Pai Cacode. According to the Secretariat’s records, there is no documentation of any MLA embarking on such tours, whether for official duties or personal reasons, during the specified timeframe.
The disclosure comes amid public scrutiny over government expenditure and accountability. While legislators in many other states frequently travel on official delegations or study tours, the RTI reply suggests that Goa MLAs have either refrained from such travel or not declared any during the period.
The revelation is expected to spark further debate on transparency, legislative engagement, and the use of public funds for official travel.
