President stresses on education

Business Standard: New Delhi: Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
President Pranab Mukherjee today stressed on the importance of education saying it was not just necessary but a must for all round development of the country.
Inaugurating a hostel for scheduled tribe and scheduled caste students on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Adimjati School here, Mukherjee also gave impetus on the vocational education.
He also asked people to use the Right to Information Act (RTI) so that development and related works could be expedited.
The President sought the cooperation of the people in implementing development programmes of the government.
Meanwhile, security was tightened in view of the President's visit which was boycotted by some insurgent organisations, official sources said.
Mukherjee, who came here on a two-day visit, was received at the airport by Governor Gurbachan Jagat, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and his cabinet colleagues.
