The Indian
Red Cross Society, Odisha Branch’s non-response to an RTI application seeking
information regarding deletion of ‘Red Cross’ from 55 ‘Red Cross Blood Banks’
operating in the State has been resented by applicant Dillip Dashsharma, a
senior lawyer.
“On November
28, 2017, I had applied to the Health and Family Welfare Department seeking
some information regarding deletion of the term ‘Red Cross’ from the 55 Red
Cross Blood Banks operating in the State. The department resent the application
to the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha Branch on December 20, 2017 asking to
furnish information. Though six months have passed and many reminders sent, the
Red Cross Society has not yet provided any response,” lamented Dashsharma in a
statement.
