Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Chandigarh, organised
a one-day media workshop for students of Mass Communication and Journalism,
Chandigarh University, Gharuan, under the Right to Information Act (2005), here
on Wednesday. Over 35 students and faculty members took part in this programme.
The training
programme sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) was
aimed to sensitise young media professionals to the Act and also to make them
aware about the latest developments based on the judgments of the Central/State
Information Commission and courts. Jarnail Singh, course director (RTI) MGSIPA,
Chandigarh, while highlighting the importance of RTI Act, 2005, said this was a
pro-people act and the MGSIPA organised such training programmes in all
districts to generate awareness about the features of this Act. TNS
