DGP orders to provide T-Branch information according to RTI Act.

DGP T P Senkumar has given orders to provide information kept secret in the T-Branch to anyone seeking information through RTI Act. Through a circular, he ordered that everyone should strictly adhere by the order given by the DGP in 2009, regarding this.

Earlier such information was not made available to anyone through RTI citing that many of the information regarding police are extremely confidential. Nevertheless, in 2009, the then DGP Jacob Punnoose had given out a circular stating that the T-Branch will fall under the RTI Act.

It is also mentioned in the 2009 circular that one can request the State Human Rights Commission to take action if any official declines to provide information.
