Goa Right To
Information forum has decided to oppose any move to scrap the RTI module
introduced in the second year BCom syllabus by Goa University.
Forum members
and RTI activists, who met in the state capital to discuss the matter,
criticized some college principals who had opposed the module.
In addition,
the RTI forum also demanded that the subject should be compulsorily introduced
in all other courses of Goa University, stating that if awareness about RTI is
created among students in a structured manner through the syllabus, then it
will lead to a more informed and responsible society.
