Tehelka
founder editor Tarun Tejpal has submitted a right to information (RTI)
application to the police department to find out the expense incurred by the
state on prosecuting him in the alleged rape case registered against him.
Tejpal is in custody since he was arrested on November 30, last year for
allegedly raping a woman journalist.
Tejpal has
filed a RTI application before the public information officer, deputy
superintendent of police, Porvorim.
He also asked
the police department to furnish details of the total amount of money that has
been paid to all the lawyers engaged by the state government in the matter. He
also sought information about the number of police assigned to work on his
case.
Tejpal wants
to know how many Goa-Mumbai-Goa. Goa-Delhi-Goa flights have been taken at the
cost of the state in his case.
